7. 꽃마을

꽃을 피우던 마을, 예술을 피우는 예술촌으로 변신하다

구덕산과 엄광산을 이어주는 고갯길에 소재한 이곳은 한국전쟁 당시 피란민이 거주하며 마을을 형성한 곳입니다. 당시 산기슭에 자라는 야생화 등을 꺾어 조금씩 내다 팔던 피란민들은 국화나 카네이션 같은 꽃 재배를 생업으로 삼았고, 이때부터 꽃마을이라 불리기 시작했습니다.

과거 1970년대엔 꽃마을의 명성에 맞는 대형 화훼단지들이 있었습니다. 현재는 꽃재배를 하는 주민들은 대부분 사라졌지만, 구덕산과 엄광산을 찾는 등산객들의 발길이 이어지며, 등산 후 허기진 배를 달래줄 시래기 해장국 등을 파는 맛집들로 유명해졌습니다.

특히 최근 ‘꽃마을 프로방스’라는 도시 재생사업을 통해 꽃마을 곳곳의 건물과 간판을 분홍빛 파스텔 톤으로 색칠해 화사하게 변신하고 있습니다. 마을을 산책하며 만나는 골목골목 담벼락에는 알록달록 아기자기한 벽화들이 그려져 있습니다.

꽃마을에는 구덕문화공원, 전통문화체험관 등 다양한 문화 시설과 체험공간이 있어 마을 주민 및 이곳을 찾는 이들에게 문화적 볼거리를 제공하고 있습니다.

A village where flowers bloom transformed into an art village where art blooms

구덕산과 엄광산을 이어주는 고갯길에 소재한 이곳은 한국전쟁 당시 피란민이 거주하며 마을을 형성한 곳입니다. 당시 산기슭에 자라는 야생화 등을 꺾어 조금씩 내다 팔던 피란민들은 국화나 카네이션 같은 꽃 재배를 생업으로 삼았고, 이때부터 꽃마을이라 불리기 시작했습니다.
Located on a mountain pass that connects Mt. Gudeok and Mt. Eomgwang, this was a place where refugees lived and formed a village during the Korean War. At that time, refugees cut wild flowers growing at the foot of the mountain and sold them and made their living by cultivating flowers such as chrysanthemums and carnations. It’s been called the Flower Village since that time.

In the 1970s, there were large flower complexes that suited the reputation of the Flower Village. Most of the residents who grew flowers have disappeared, but hikers continue to visit Mt. Gudeok and Mt. Eomgwang. It has become popular for restaurants selling dried radish leaf haejangguk to hikers to soothe their hungry stomachs after hiking.

특히 최근 “꽃마을 프로방스”라는 도시 재생사업을 통해 꽃마을 곳곳의 건물과 간판을 분홍빛 파스텔 톤으로 색칠해 화사하게 변신하고 있습니다. 마을을 산책하며 만나는 골목골목 담벼락에는 알록달록 아기자기한 벽화들이 그려져 있습니다.”
In particular, through the recent urban regeneration project called Flower Village Provence, buildings and signboards throughout the Flower Village are being transformed into bright pink pastel tones. When you walk around the village, you will see colorful murals painted on the walls in the alleys.

꽃마을에는 구덕문화공원, 전통문화체험관 등 다양한 문화 시설과 체험공간이 있어 마을 주민 및 이곳을 찾는 이들에게 문화적 볼거리를 제공하고 있습니다.
The Flower Village has various cultural facilities and experience spaces such as Gudeok Culture Park and Traditional Culture Experience Center, providing cultural attractions to villagers and visitors.
