13. 임시수도기념관

한국전쟁의 피란 수도 근대 부산 속으로

이번 정류장은 임시수도기념관입니다.

학생: 할머니, 이곳은 한국전쟁 당시 부산이
대한민국 임시수도였을 때 이승만 전 대통령이
거처했었던 임시수도기념관이에요.

할머니: 할미가 갓난아기였을 때라 전혀 기억은 안나지만
커서는 어머니한테 얘기를 많이 들었지.
1950년 8월, 내가 태어났던 그 여름부터
부산이 임시수도였다고

학생: 맞아요. 1953년 7월 27일 휴전협정이 성립될 때까지 이곳이
대통령 관저였대요. 그래서 이승만 대통령이 이곳에서
지내며 집무를 보셨고, 지금은 기념관으로 쓰고 있는 거죠.
이 건물이 1926년 8월에 경상남도 도지사 관사로 쓰기 위해
지은 거라 일본식과 서양식 건축양식이 섞여 있어요.
응접실은 서양식인데, 주거 공간은 일본식이에요.

할머니: 역사적으로 가치가 있겠구나.

학생: 네, 근대건축물로서의 역사성이 인정돼 2018년에 국가지정문화재
사적 제546호로 지정됐어요.
여기 정원도 고즈넉하니 예뻐서 인생 사진을 찍을 수 있어요.
우리도 이따 전시관 보고 나와서 찍어봐요.

할머니: 건물 안에도 들어갈 수 있는 거니?

학생: 그럼요. 기념관이니깐요. 기념관은 대통령 관저랑 전시관으로
나뉘어 있는데, 관저에는 응접실, 서재, 내실, 집무실과 같이
이승만 대통령 내외가 머무르며 집무를 수행하고 주요 국빈을
맞이했던 공간을 재현해놓았다고 해요.
옛 부산고등검찰청의 검사장 관사 용도로 지어졌던 전시관은
전쟁과 삶, 임시수도 부산의 1,000일이라는 두 가지 주제로
꾸며져 있대요. 먼저 전쟁과 삶 전시관에는 전쟁에서 사용하던
물건들과 당시 판잣집, 피란학교 등 실물 모형이 전시되어 있고
임시수도 부산의 1,000일 전시관에서는 그 시절 부산의
주요 정치적 사건과 행정, 경제적 변화 모습에
초점을 둔 다양한 유물들이 전시되어 부산이 임시수도로서
어떤 역할을 했는지 잘 살펴볼 수 있대요.

학생: 할머니, 이곳은 한국전쟁 당시 부산이
대한민국 임시수도였을 때 이승만 전 대통령이
거처했었던 임시수도기념관이에요.
Student: Grandma, this is the Provisional Capital Memorial Hall where former President Syngman Rhee lived when Busan was the provisional capital of Korea during the Korean War.


할머니: 할미가 갓난아기였을 때라 전혀 기억은 안나지만

Grandma: That was when I was a baby, so I don’t remember it at all.
But I heard about it from my mother growing up.
In August of 1950, the summer I was born, Busan was the provisional capital.

학생: 맞아요. 1953년 7월 27일 휴전협정이 성립될 때까지 이곳이
대통령 관저였대요. 그래서 이승만 대통령이 이곳에서
지내며 집무를 보셨고, 지금은 기념관으로 쓰고 있는 거죠.

Student: That’s right. I heard that this was the presidential residence until the armistice agreement was signed on July 27, 1953. So, President Syngman Rhee lived and worked here, and now it is being used as a memorial hall. This building was built in August 1926 to serve as the residence of the governor of Gyeongsangnam-do, so it has a mix of Japanese and Western architectural styles.
The reception room is Western style, while the residential space is Japanese style.

할머니: 역사적으로 가치가 있겠구나.
Grandma: It must have historical value.

학생: 네, 근대건축물로서의 역사성이 인정돼 2018년에 국가지정문화재

The exhibition hall, which was built as the office of the prosecutor of the former Busan High Public Prosecutors Office, is organized into two themes: war and life, and 1,000 days of the provisional capital of Busan. First, in the War and Life Exhibition Hall, objects used in the war and models such as a shack and refugee school are displayed.
In the 1,000 Days of the Provisional Capital of Busan Exhibition Hall, various relics focusing on major political events and administrative and economic changes in Busan at that time are exhibited, so you can take a careful look at the role of the city as the provisional capital.
