At today’s Dongdaesin-dong Samik Apt location was originally the Busan Prison. Before, the Japanese guards used the place as the military training ground since September in 1896 then as time goes by, Busan Prison was established on Octoebr 21st, 1909. It became Busan Jail on November 23rd, 1962 and then Busan Detention Center on December 23rd, 1973 as it moved to Juryedong, Buk-gu. Unlike Busan Prison, Busan Youth Detention Center was established at 75 Dongdaesin-dong 2ga on January 8th, 1947 but it moved to Oryun-dong as locals insisted continuously for relocation of Busan Youth Detention Center.
